Project Background
The Sanpete County Trail proposal aims to enhance active transportation and recreation connections in Sanpete County, Utah, by creating a non-motorized, multi-use trail along and around the US-89 corridor. This initiative is rooted in a regional need to increase outdoor recreational opportunities that can serve both residents and visitors, contributing to Sanpete County’s attractiveness as a tourism destination and enhancing economic development. The feasibility study will identify the best possible trail alignment and constructible segments and recommend ways to create an accessible, multi-functional trail. It will assess environmental, engineering, and public input to ensure the trail’s design meets community needs.
